Scope
This policy and guideline sets the standards for protecting the personal privacy of all people that use our online services resulting in personal information being stored on the Colorado Wireless Communities computer systems.
Adherence to this policy applies to all City employees, volunteers and contractors. Any one of these people working with or for the City are required to understand this policy and be able to explain it if asked by a member of the public regarding the “City’s Privacy Policy”.

By protecting online privacy, we are responsible for public trust, and expect to build the public’s confidence in the Colorado Wireless Communities online services available over the Internet. This also applies to all internal systems that retain personal information about the public.
This privacy policy informs about the types of information we may obtain, store and what happens to that information. The intent is to enable choice and control for constituents that are providing personal information.

We intend to protect your personal information and to maintain its integrity or quality. We implement appropriate measures and processes, such as using encryption when transmitting certain sensitive information, to help us to keep your information secure.
Cyber-security assessments are performed on systems under our control, including identifying attempts to tamper with the web site which may lead to further investigative work, criminal prosecution or other legal proceedings.

We sometimes collect non-identifiable information from visits to our web sites to help us provide better customer service. Examples of other information include:

This statistical information is used in aggregate form to manage and improve the web sites by analyzing overall usage and general trends among visits to the site. Typical benefits are web site navigation changes and overall web site performance (speed).

We collect the information we mentioned in the previous paragraphs through the use of various technologies, including one called "cookies". Our Commitment to Your Privacy
Colorado Wireless Communities will not sell, share or release personal information to any outside parties unless necessary to complete a service or transaction you have requested, or unless required to do so in connection with law enforcement investigations, valid requests under public information statutes (see "Public Records" below), or other legal proceedings. Sharing of personal information between City departments will be limited to only those employees necessary to respond to your request for service or to complete a transaction. Colorado Wireless Communities is committed to requesting only the minimum personal information necessary to complete an individual online transaction.
Colorado Wireless Communities will not use any personal information obtained via e-mail or web site for marketing of City programs and events, unless you have given us permission by marking a specific option to do so at the time you disclosed your personal information. If you choose to receive future marketing information from us, any electronic materials we send you will clearly give you the opportunity to tell us that you no longer want to receive similar information.
Colorado Wireless Communities will not send you unsolicited e-mail, such as surveys or advertising for upcoming events and programs, unless you have given us permission to do so, such as signing up for e-mail subscriptions through our web sites or by checking a specific option to receive future e-mail at the time you give us your e-mail address. We will respond in kind to e-mail correspondence or to other service requests where people have requested an e-mail response.
